Volunteer to Host a Hive Workshop
The Hive is a community MakerSpace. We strive to offer a welcoming place where library members may learn to use tools and equipment that they may not otherwise have access to. The Hive is a place to hone skills, discover passions, and inspire creativity.
Are you enthusiastic and experienced in sewing, serging, graphic design, card-making, jewelry-making or some other creative art hobby? Do you want to share your passion and knowledge of your craft with beginners? As a Volunteer Instructor, you will teach library patrons the basics on your creative topic for about an hour. They may run longer. The workshops are generally hands-on and demonstration based.
Workshops are limited in size to a maximum of 10 attendees, however, they may be smaller in size if the instructor indicates that they need to teach in smaller sessions. Please fill out the form below and we will contact you about hosting a Hive Workshop.
Please note that Volunteer Instructors must be Certified Makers and must have met with and and been screened by the Library's Volunteer Coordinator. By filling out this form, you are submitting your request for consideration by the Library's Programming Committee. You will be contacted by a library staff member regarding the status of your application. Volunteer Instructors must have learners (age 18+) sign the library's Guest Waiver before the workshop begins. Children learners must attend the workshop with their parent or caregiver who must sign the Guest Waiver.
